Judith Eva Barsi (1978 - 1988)

The voice actress for Ducky in The Land Before Time was only 10 years old when she was killed in a murder/suicide by her father. Her father was an abusive drunk who was jealous and paranoid and would routinely threaten to kill himself, his wife and his daughter. Before she was to leave to film one of the Jaws movies, Judith was threatened by her father with a knife, saying that “If you decide not to come back, I will cut your throat.” She was discovered to have severe emotional trauma by a child psychologist of CPS after she had suffered a breakdown in front of her agent. Her mother promised that she would file a divorce against her husband and leave him but she resisted because she claimed that didn’t want to lose the family home and belongings. On July 25, 1988, Judith was shot in the head by her father while she was asleep in her room. Her mother, hearing the shot, rushed only to be met with death as well. Once the bodies had been covered in gasoline and set on fire, Judith’s father went into the garage and shot himself in the head. On Judith’s tombstone, it reads “Yep! Yep! Yep!” in reference to the beloved character for which we all know and love her. May she rest in peace ♥
